Overview
This practical training is designed to help businesses in the U.S. design, develop, implement, and evaluate grievance mechanisms in their operations.
To align with international best practices and increasing national and international legislative requirements—and to ensure responsible recruitment and fair work for all—businesses must have effective grievance mechanisms in place. These systems ensure that all workers can raise grievances, complaints, concerns, suggestions, or ideas and access remedies.
However, there are common pitfalls that can make grievance mechanisms ineffective. These include inaccessibility, underuse, or a lack of trust among workers.
This training focuses on workplace grievance mechanisms, offering tools to assess your business practices and providing practical, strategic, and operational guidance for effective mechanisms. From development to implementation and ongoing monitoring and evaluation, this workshop covers it all.
Regardless of your starting point, this training and its complementary guidance—aligned with international best practices—will enable you to perform a “health check” on your business’s grievance mechanisms.
By the end of the training workshop, you will:
- Be prepared with practical steps to assess and strengthen your business’s grievance mechanism systems.
- Understand common challenges that impact effective grievance mechanisms and how to address them.
- Gain familiarity with the UN criteria for effective grievance mechanisms.
- Receive Stronger Together’s “Ensuring Effective Workplace Grievance Mechanisms Checklist” to help you implement the guidance and gain internal alignment after the workshop.
This workshop is ideal for:
