Stronger Together is delighted to announce it has received funding from Co-op, Innocent Drinks, Marks and Spencer, Ocado, and Waitrose & Partners to support the Spanish horticultural industry, to prevent, manage and respond to the risk of forced labour and other forms of exploitation.
Stronger Together is working with Spanish partners to engage with growers and other stakeholders across the Spanish fresh produce supply chain; and to develop a pragmatic toolkit, which will support Spanish businesses to deter, detect and deal with forced labour and other third-party hidden labour exploitation. The toolkit will be tailored to the Spanish labour laws, risk context and business models and is due to be published in the Autumn. It will be free to download from stronger2gether.org. The toolkit will be actively promoted to and shared with growers through Stronger Together and its Spanish delivery partners, its Spain programme founding partners, local and international business networks.
The intention is to further support growers through training and the development of more resources in a second phase of the programme.
