One representative from your company, with oversight of your overall modern slavery programme, should be responsible for completing the tool, with insight and input from relevant team members where necessary. Your responses should be signed off by a senior manager/legal counsel/Director.

This depends on which sector you are completing the tool for and how much time is required gathering input and insight from relevant team members.

  • Consumer Goods – the questionnaire should take between 2 to 4 hours to complete.
  • South Africa – the questionnaire should take between 30mins to 1 hour.

Depending on which sector you are completing the tool for there are a few requirements for completing the tool:

Consumer Goods – you must be a supplier to one of the Stronger Together Consumer Goods project sponsors. We also recommend that your organisation should have attended the Tackling Modern Slavery in Global Supply Chains workshop and that the sites within your organisation should have attended the Tackling Modern Slavery in UK Business workshop as many questions within the tool relate to your business/operations and your supply chain.

South Africa – all suppliers in the South African agricultural industry can access the tool. Retailers and buyers who are not part of the Stronger Together South Africa programme who are interested in using the tool please contact us to find out more: infoza@stronger2gether.org .

It is appreciated that you will need to gain input from appropriate team members and for this reason, you can save your progress at any time. You can also print out a list of the questions to share with relevant colleagues to help to plan your responses.

The tool is intended to be an indicator of your progress across your whole organisation and not just at the individual site level; by keeping the completion to just one person responsible for your organisation’s approach to tackling modern slavery, this will assist in maintaining the integrity of the responses.

Save progress allows you to save your responses as you go and will enable your senior manager/legal counsel/Director to review the responses before submitting. Each time you select submit, a date stamp is recorded with a scoring of your responses on the progress graph.

You will only need to request access to use the tool on your initial visit to the tool.

You will receive an email indicating this – if you have not received this email within 1 working day, please contact Stronger Together by emailing info@stronger2gether.org or phoning +44 (0) 1276 919090.

You can indicate which of your clients or buyers can see your responses by selecting the appropriate brand name in the ‘Your Customers’ field on the ‘Your Profile’ page.

The graphs and charts on your home page are colour coded to visualise progress. Green shows areas where you are making good progress, orange, yellow and blue are in between and red shows areas where work completed in this area is minimal or yet to begin.

On the ‘Benchmark’ page the graphs have two columns, the blue columns are your responses, whilst the red columns are the responses of all other suppliers in the sector that you operate in that have completed all the questions.

The progress graph shows your progress over time with the overall score plotted each time you update and submit your responses.

This is only visible for retailers – the supply chain graph details the responses of all of the suppliers in your supply chain who have completed all questions. The supplier graph indicates the responses of those individual suppliers in your supply chain who have given consent to you viewing their responses.

By its very nature, tackling modern slavery is a complex issue and no single action is sufficient. The responses to your questions can however be filtered by the 6 different question categories which are aligned to the UN Guiding Principles framework.

There are no restrictions on the number of times you complete the questions in the tool. You can update your progress at any time. Each time you submit your responses, an overall score will appear against that date on the progress graph.

At the top right of the Home screen is a button called “Download Summary Report”, this allows you to download your results to your PC in PDF format for offline viewing and sharing.

Ensure you click the “Save Progress” button to save your answers so the next time you logon you can continue completing the questionnaires.

If something is not relevant for your business you can choose ‘non-applicable’.

The homepage includes a table displaying your overall score for your most recently completed questionnaires, including a percentage difference between each one as a quick reference for how much improvement has been made. The summary table aggregates your scores from each of the six question categories, to give a snapshot of your performance. The grey bars in this table benchmark your performance against aggregated data from other companies from the same sector. The circular charts provide your average scores from each of the question categories colour coded for a visual insight into your performance. The Progress Graph charts your organisational progress over time by displaying the total scores from your completed questionnaires by date. At the bottom of the page you will find a list of all the questions and your most recent answers for each one.
