Stronger Together UK Communications Manager

Contract: full-time or 0.8 FTE would be considered, fixed-term until 31st March 2021

Salary: £28,000 – 32,000 annually (or pro rata for 0.8 FTE)

We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join our team, and enthusiastic individual who is a self-starter, able to take forward projects with minimal supervision and who is motivated by results and with the initiative, creativity and drive to increase our programmes’ profile across both the UK and internationally.

You will be responsible for the strategy and delivery of communications and marketing for Stronger Together, and the Responsible Recruitment Toolkit, Clearview and Fast Forward programmes, a group of initiatives all aimed at creating systemic human rights change in global supply chains. The role is varied with opportunity to devise strategy and plans across the range of communications disciplines, implement them and try out new ideas. You will work remotely, but in direct cooperation with the UK, USA, South Africa and Spain teams to support their communications needs.

You will be responsible for increasing our online and offline profile, and driving engagement with and expansion of our network. The post holder will have a great eye for a story, excellent writing and reviewing skills and the ability to develop compelling and targeted content for both on and offline communications, great knowledge how the media works, how to maximise CRM functionality, and a good eye for detail and for design. You will be adept at managing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships with different teams and partners.

Stronger Together South Africa established in 2017, has been providing training, guidance and facilitating cross-supply chain dialogue in the South African fruit and wine industries and global supply chains. The programme works closely with its partners WIETA and SIZA.
