Gender Review – Consultant Opportunity

We are looking for a consultant to review our tackling forced labour guidance for businesses from a gender perspective and to add concise, relevant and practical information on specific risks of forced labour related to gender, and pragmatic guidance on gender-sensitive policies, procedures and due diligence. This must be underpinned by the right to gender equality and focus specifically on businesses’ potential and actual adverse impacts on human rights related to sex, gender, gender identity and sexual orientation, with particular emphasis on the experiences of women and girls, and the multiple intersecting forms of discrimination that influence the realization of equal rights. Also to be included is specific action to understand and address the vulnerabilities experienced by women and girls regarding response and remedy mechanisms in suspected and identified forced labour situations.

Objectives:

  • To ensure our information on modern slavery and forced labour for businesses is inclusive of vulnerabilities specific to gender.
  • To ensure our practical guidance (including template policies and checklists) for businesses on tackling forced labour is cognisant of gender specific vulnerabilities so that when implemented by a business they are mitigating against gender specific forced labour risks within that business’s operations and supply chain.

Project period: Assignment to start immediately and to be completed by the end of February 2021.

Budget: £2,500

South Africa Programme Evaluation – Consultant Opportunity

We are looking for a consultant to undertake an evaluation of the South Africa programme. This evaluation is part of the end of the second phase of the programme and will be used to assess the impact of the current phase of the programme (2019-2021) as well as inform learning and best practice and guide the ongoing work of Stronger Together South Africa.

Deliverables:

  • 25-30 page evaluation report (without annexes) with the findings of the evaluation including clear recommendations for the next phase of the programme and where relevant for the rolling out of similar international supply chain programmes to tackle forced labour based on the same model. Audience: internal
  • A 5 page overview of the findings that can be shared with relevant programme stakeholders and participants. Audience: External
  • A ½ day workshop to present the findings of the evaluation to Stronger Together, WIETA and SIZA.

Project period: Assignment to start immediately and to be completed by the end of March 2021.

Budget: The budget is max. GBP 9,000 to include all costs and expenses.
